Sometimes you just want to sit back, watch a game, and enjoy seeing kids having fun. veral years can be attributed to the dad’s sitting around me kindly answering me when I say, “What was that whistle for?” or “What just happened?”
The truth is, I kind of like not fully understanding a sport both my kids play. I get the gist of it, if a ball goes in the goal, it’s a point. As long as they are surrounded with people that know what they are doing, I’m content to sit back and relish watching them have a great time playing a fun game that I never played.
If you have a son or daughter that wants to try a sport you don’t have a clue about, I urge you to let them try. Surround them with knowledgeable people and who knows, maybe they fall in love with the sport.
